DC NEWS

Congratulations to all DC Students on three amazing shows, we are so proud of you all!
DC COVID GUIDELINES
DROP OFF AND PICK UP ARRANGEMENTS
Unfortunately parents and carers will not be allowed inside the building at any time. We ask that you adhere to this request so that Randwick Council will allow us to operate. Drop off and pick up points for 2021 are:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: side gate entry/exit
Tuesday: front door entry/exit
Thursday: front door entry/exit from 3:45-5:30pm, then side gate entry/exit from 5:30pm onwards.
DC staff will be at both entry/exit points to greet or dismiss students.
TOILETS
The use of toilets will be strictly limited. Please ensure your dancer has already used the toilet at home/school before they arrive, so that we can save the facilities for those that really need it. Toilets cannot be used as changerooms. These directives have come from The Office of Sport and AUSDANCE NSW and we must adhere to them.
ARRIVAL AFTER SCHOOL
Unfortunately, students walking to DC directly from school will need to be changed into their dance gear before they arrive (see above) as they cannot come into the building before their scheduled lesson time. Unfortunately we will not be offering school pick up for SMM students in 2021. We hope that SMM parents will be able to assist one another in walking children up to DC.
Until things change, parents will need to make alternative arrangements as we cannot have students waiting inside the building for their class to start. Our COVID-SAFE plan is based on student numbers and the 4 square metre ruling and we cannot make any exceptions. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR DANCER EARLIER THAN THE SCHEDULED START TIME.
You can read about the 4 square metre rule HERE
TEENS AND SENIORS
We truly love that for many of our teen and senior dancers, DC is a place to: congregate with friends, catch up before and after class, eat together outside and relax on the steps. Unfortunately Term 3 is going to be very different. We can't do all of these things just yet, so please ensure your dancer arrives no earlier than their scheduled start time. If they have a break at DC, they can wait out the back of the main hall with Trudi :)
SCHOOL BAGS AND DANCE BAGS
Please ensure that your dancer has a small dance bag with only the essentials. It would be appreciated if school bags could be left at home where possible.
CANTEEN IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The DC canteen will not be operating. Please ensure that your dancer has their own water bottle.
DANCERS ON A BREAK BETWEEN CLASSES
We have collated this information and we will ensure that your dancer knows where to sit and with what staff member. They will be well supervised.
HYGIENE AND SANITIZATION
DC will have signage in each entry way and room with visuals for kids about hygiene. Bloom's Chemist in Randwick have kindly donated hand sanitiser for our students and teachers. Everyone will be required to sanitize upon entry to the building as well as before and after class.
In class, students will be reminded to avoid close proximity to other people and practice good hygiene. In shared entry ways, students will be prompted to stay 1.5m apart.
Rooms will be sanitized before and after use along with ballet barres, mats and turning boards. The use of other equipment such as thera bands, balls and blocks will be stopped for the time being.
ILLNESS
Do not let your child come to dancing if they are showing any symptoms
or are generally feeling unwell.
These include: Fever / Sore throat / Fatigue /Difficulty breathing
• If on arrival to DC your child's temperature is more than 38 you will be called to collect your child.
• You will then be asked to obtain a
COVID-19 clearance from one of the free testing clinics in the
eastern suburbs or a doctors certificate before returning to classes.
• Call the National Coronavirus Hotline for advice
on next steps - 1800 020 080
